如果說是生活中的體驗那就很多了，比如說
If it’s about experiences in life, there’s a lot, for example
哥倫比亞那邊一直騎馬騎馬
I’ve tried horseback riding in Colombia
而且那時候還有一個雙彩虹
And at that time, there was a double Rainbow
騎馬衝過去的時候好像進入一個仙境那樣
When riding a horse through, it was like entering a fairyland
真的好漂亮的
Truly amazing
那個馬在奔跑的時候你就覺得自己好像個西藏公主
When the horse is running, you’d feel like a Tibetan princess sitting on top
然後也試過了很多極限運動比如說衝浪啊
I also tried a lot of extreme sports, such as surfing
懸崖吊，或是穿很薄的鞋也去爬山
cliff hanging or wore thin shoes to go mountain hiking
也試了叫「死藤水」的迷幻草藥
I’ve also tried Ayahuasca
在我的頻道裡面會介紹

那個是在南美洲
That is in South America
很像LSD和迷幻蘑菇那樣的一個迷幻藥

其實是那邊當地的居民會喝這個

但其實都是看他用量對不對

用量少的話像是一種藥物
If the dosage is small, it is like a medicine
但用量多的話就變成一種毒物

大麻本來也是屬於藥物來的

那個是當地的文化算是合法

If you want to volunteer, how to best showcase your talents
幫助當地，運用你的才能
Put your skills into practice to help the local community
不然的話其實也是比較浪費時間
Otherwise, it might actually be a waste of time
以體力交換你自己在那邊食物和住宿
Exchange labor for food and accommodation there
有可能會給當地人添麻煩

我印象最深的旅行
My most memorable trip
講一下外部跟內部的差別
Let’s talk about the external and internal experience too
外部的體驗就是身體上的這種體驗
The external experience is the physical bodily experience
突然要我想的話我只能想到室內跳傘
Suddenly on the top of my head, I can only think of Indoor Skydiving
就是我在德國去過一個垂直風洞
I went to a vertical wind tunnel in Germany
一般人跳傘可以去那邊練習
People can go there to practice skydiving
做花式跳傘的人在裡面飛來飛去一個隊伍手拉手
For Style Jumping, you can fly around holding hands as a group
然後繞繞繞
Then try flying in all directions
我自己去玩了一下這個
I’ve tried this
我也曾想要跳傘
I also wanted to skydive
在我的生日那天去報名了
I signed up to do it on my birthday
但是因為天候不佳天氣不好
But because of bad weather
取消了反而讓我鬆一口氣不然我很緊張
It got canceled, but I just felt relieved.
但是我想說的是
But what I want to say is
除了這個以外，其他身體上的體驗我好像都不記得了
Apart from this, I don’t seem to remember other physical experiences
感覺像走馬看花
Feels like just having a glance at all those things
我那些照片照了一堆我也很少回去看
I took lots of pictures but I hardly look back
因為就是沒有心靈上的感動
I think I wasn’t touched in any way
沒有心靈上的提升所以記不得
No spiritual improvement. That’s why I can’t remember
這就要談到我們說的內心的體會感動
This is the internal part of the experience, an inspiration
印象最深的其實不只是你身上的一些體驗
It’s not limited to your bodily experience
內部的話我們在說的是心靈成長
Internally, we are talking about spiritual growth
對以後生活有具體幫助的些體驗

也不是說一次旅遊或一個國家讓我有心靈感觸
It’s not that one single trip or a country that inspired me
我感覺是不停地累積成的一個感動吧
I think it’s a continuous sensation that rolls bigger & bigger
不是一個地方一次或一瞬間
Not one place, one time, or one single moment can suffice
就好像當我去了在紐西蘭
It’s like when I went to New Zealand
看過很多山那看過很多自然的風景
I’ve seen lots of mountains, I have seen a lot of natural scenery
每次看了就覺得看了看了
Every time I see it, yeah I’ve seen it
可是一次再一次的好像感覺
I have the feeling again and again
這個世界真的很大
Yeah, the world is so big
那人是很渺小的
People are so tiny
我自己的想法、很多東西都是外在的東西
My thoughts, lots of things are external
外在的東西不會實際地把我變成更好的人
Those things can’t help me become a better person
好像我們亞洲人經常說買屋子
It seems that Asians often say it’s essential to buy a house
買房子買車要名牌包包
Buying a house, a car, or a designer handbag
這些東西就是很外在的東西
These are external that is not necessary
要提升成為一個更好的人從內部提升更好了
Becoming a better person takes strength from within
錢這東西呢只是一個工具讓我去達到目的
Money is just a tool that helps me achieve a goal
不是從本質上直接讓我成為一個更好的人
But can’t essentially and directly make me a better self
那怎麼成為一個更好的人
So how can we become a better version of ourselves?
那就是一直不停的修煉反省自己
You need to keep practice reflecting on yourself
一直去省思到底做錯了什麼東西
think about what where it went wrong
然後慢慢去改進越來越好
and how to get better and better
對,就是這些不停的超越自我
Yes, it’s these constant actualizations
旅行中當你自己一個人省思的時候
When you are traveling alone
不同時候慢慢地自己反省
Slowly reflect on yourself at different times
要先有一個認知，認知到不足
We must first have a cognition, recognize this lack
跟你知道想要的自己的差距還有多少
between how far you’re and your desired self
再慢慢朝那個方向接近
Then slowly approach that direction of better self
我覺得印象最深的體驗
I think the most memorable experience
像我剛說那的個身體上的體驗
The physical experience I just mentioned
就真的大部分不記得
I really don’t remember much
但是總的來說, 這些地方啊
But in general, these places
我去過快要50個國家
I’ve been to nearly 50 countries
讓我對歷史地理在學校念過的書有更多了解
Enhanced my knowledge of history and geography, the stuff I learned but forgot in school
就好像你剛剛說的
It’s like you just said
不是哪個地方帶你什麼感動而是累積而成
It’s not one place that touched you, it’s an accumulated feeling
好像兩個點我就可以畫出一條線
Like I can draw a line connecting two points
三個點就可以成一個面
Connecting three points can form a surface
英文有個說法：連接線索形成對某事的清晰理解
In English, we say “connect the dots”
這樣你可以學會包容更多的可能性
So you can learn to accept more possibilities
我覺得學到最多的就是雅量
I think the biggest lesson I learned is magnanimity
你可以去包容這世界更多的可能
You will be able to tolerate, accept, even embrace more possibilities
世界變得很大很大
The world becomes huge
經由旅遊我去了解到在大自然里人超級渺小
Through traveling, I learned that people are super small in nature
人的一些情緒更渺小
Emotions of people are even smaller
之前我當志工坐和平號日本的郵輪
My volunteer experience on Peace Boat, a Japanese NGO cruise
讓我更認識自己
Has helped me get to know myself better
比如說我們在船上談到一些海洋垃汲難民問題
For instance, we talked about some ocean waste and refugees issues on board
不自覺地那時候在翻譯很難過掉眼淚
Unconsciously, I couldn’t help but shedding tears even when I was working/ translating
這個就是讓我了解情緒背後的一些訊息
These were signals for me to catch messages behind my emotions
讓我知道我自己以後更想做什麼
My soul is telling me what I want to do more in the future
上一個point說好像你在翻譯你想到海洋問題
Previously you said that the translation job makes you ponder ocean issues
這種覺醒本來如果你不出去不遇到這些人的話
You won’t have this type of awakening if you stay in your comfort zone and not meeting new people
可能根本不會有想到原來海洋有這問題
You might not even know about the issue or how server this issue is
所以說當你出去你會看到更多東西
So when you go out you will see more things
你會有比較多的啟發
You will have more awareness
你會更疼惜這個世界
You care more about the world
對這世界上有多一點好奇心
Have a little more curiosity about this world
不是只侷限於你每天的生活
Not just repeating your daily life
可能每天都工作賺錢工作賺錢
Maybe on the clock every day to make money
其他的一律都不管不Care這種感覺
Seems that you don’t care about anything else
沒錯
That’s right
所以真實的馬爾地夫根本沒有那麼漂亮
So the real Maldives is not so beautiful at all
那都是雜誌特別去拍的好不好不要相信
It’s all specially shot for magazines and hotels, don’t be fooled
當地的那個海洋塑料塑膠垃圾
The local ocean plastic waste
真的是多到不行很讓人痛心
is out of control, it breaks my heart!
這是我在我的部落格有提到
I highlighted it in my blog
菲律賓的長灘島也是
So is Boracay, The Philippines
整堆都是垃圾的
Piles and piles of garbage
尤其是越低窪的地方啊
Especially lower lands
因為海洋的洋流會帶來更多的垃圾
Because of the ocean current brings more rubbish
沖上岸就可以看得到
You can see them when they’re pushed ashore
平常在海洋裡面大概是海平面下一公尺
Usually in the ocean, they’re about one meter below sea level
那些塑料會在那邊漂
Those plastics will float there
不太會在上面漂(所以才通常看不到)
Doesn’t float on it (so we usually don’t see it)
這是我在和平號上學到的
This is what I learned on Peace Boat
上面漂的都少少的
Still, there are a few floating on top
但是我還是看得到
Like what I saw
我曾經看到一個像垃圾的東西
I once saw something floating like a piece of trash
然後我數幾秒
Then I counted a few seconds
看能夠再看到下一次垃圾是什麼時候
Wanting to see when the next trash would appear
間隔多久，你猜
Guess how long was the interval between the two
下一秒吧 沒有沒有
Next second? No no no
60秒左右一分鐘以後又有一個
In about 60 seconds, there was another
看得出是垃圾的東西飄過在海面上
piece drifting next to the ship
然後船在行走對不對
Look, the boat is sailing, right?
你看怎麼可能就剛好讓我碰到
What are the odds to witness this?
這就是代表著海洋已經充滿了垃圾
This means that the ocean is saturated with rubbish
讓我不看到都不行
And I had to see the truth
這個很痛心
It’s really sad
我想要為海洋做點什麼
That’s why I want to do something for the ocean
哎呀 那個塑料瓶大家要小心了
Please, watch out for those plastic bottles
用少一點真的真的,就是一次性的塑膠
Useless or none of that disposable plastic!!
他們有統計一次性的塑膠
Statistics show that single-use plastics
平均使用的時間只有12分鐘
The average usage time is only 12 minutes
他們要在被自然分解
And to be biodegraded
需要多少時間你知道嗎
How long do you think it takes?
千百萬年？
Hundreds of thousands of years?

連一個去Starbucks那種杯子
Even a cup from Starbucks
那也要40年以上
It will take more than 40 years
小時候穿的尿布也都還在某個地方
Diapers that we used are still somewhere out there
沒有被分解掉所以很可怕
It’s not broken down yet so it’s terrible
那衛生棉呢
What about sanitary napkins?
我想問一下衛生棉
I want to ask about sanitary napkins
它需要多久才能夠分解
How long does it take to break down?
那時候看到數據裡沒有但是因為它裡面也有塑膠
It was not present in the data, but it has plastic too
有一層防水的
Has a waterproof layer
你說它分解只是變得更細小的塑膠顆粒
When it comes to decomposition, it only means they become microplastic
讓你肉眼看不到但你喝都喝進去吃都吃進去了
You can’t see it with the naked eye, but you drank it and ate it.
這就延伸為什麼現在我們有那麼多人有不孕症
This extends to why there’s high infertility now
為什麼之前兩代之沒那麼嚴重
Why it wasn’t such a thing in the previous generations
因為我們用塑膠用的太過分了
Because we used way too much plastic
尤其是衛生棉每個女生都用
Especially sanitary napkins are used by every girl
每個月都是至少有三五條那樣
There are at least three or five items every month
到底是多少的垃圾就從包裝是吧
How much rubbish is that, from the packaging
到你那個翅膀到你真正那個棉條
to the wings and to the actual product
棉條本身也不是說很容易被分解
Tampons are maybe not easily decomposed
可能也要兩三個月，不知道
Maybe it will take two or three months, I don’t know
棉條就好一點
Tampons made of cotton are better
但是還是一次性垃圾
But still, it’s single-use trash
所以我回來之後就用月亮杯
So after I came back, I use the menstrual cup
還有那種可以用洗的那種衛生棉和護墊
And the kind of sanitary napkins that can be washed
你可以買大一點的厚一點啊
You can buy a bigger and thicker one
拿來洗然後就可以再用
Wash and then you can use it again
而且我才夜用的只有兩片然後日用的6片
And I have two for night & 6 for day use
這樣都夠用耶
It’s actually enough
我知道有那個洗的可以
I know the napkins that can be washed
月亮杯我看著就不敢用,我覺得有點恐怖
But the cup kind of scares me
我也是累積勇氣才去試的
I also accumulated the courage before trying
OK但是因為有看到海洋垃圾的這個體驗
but because of the experience of witnessing ocean waste
讓我更早一點去做嘗試
It made me more determined, decided to try it sooner
我之前就聽過也覺得會不會怎麼樣
I’ve heard it before and wondered if might have the side-effect
後來去查了然後去用很好用
I looked it up and it’s great
只是你要注意使用的方法才不會漏出來
It’s just that you should follow the instruction so that it won’t leak out
另外，旅遊雖然你可以說我去過那裡去過那裡
You can say I’ve been there and there
但是沒有辦法滿足你空虛的心靈
But there is no way to fill your emptiness
看得再多也只是風景不一樣而已
The more you see, it’s just different scenery
我還有一點是我繞了一大圈
I have another point, it took me circling around the world
發現中國文化非常深遠很值得驕傲
to realize that Chinese culture is very profound that we should be proud of
繞一圈去了50個國家我發現
After visiting 50 countries, I found
中華文化我們真是勤奮刻苦認真生活的一群人
Chinese, we are really a group of people with earnest lifestyle
而且我們的美食非常多元有很多選擇
Our cuisine is really diverse and there are many choices
養生健康的觀念跟態度都可堪稱世界的典範
The health regimen and attitude of keeping well can be the beacon for the globe
這個是我可能還沒有出國之前
This is something I wouldn’t see before
我都覺得我好像國外月亮比較圓
Before I moved abroad, I thought the moon is brighter abroad
因為還沒有去過就覺得好像那邊比較好
Because somewhere I haven’t been, I thought it’s better
繞了一大圈回來中華文化非常值得驕傲
After a big circle, I am more proud of Chinese culture than ever
我們真的不要太過被西方的文化影響了
We really don’t have to be too influenced by Western culture
要為自己感到驕傲我們的歷史等,我們就是我們
Should be proud of who we were and who we are
對,還有一點是如果你去旅行接觸不同文化
True, yet another thing is that if you clash between cultures
你保有自己喜歡的中華文化的一部分
You keep a part of Chinese culture that you hold dear
但你去吸收去截取不同文化精華
And you go absorb and find the essence of different cultures
這就更好
This is even better
你就可找到一個屬於你自己的文化
You can find a culture that belongs to you
沒錯 不用崇洋媚外
That’s right, you don’t have to admire foreign stuff
我覺得很快的西方的人會開始崇東
I think people in the West will soon start to if not already
崇拜東方
will start to appreciate the East more
以前在工業革命滿清政府之前
Before the Industrial Revolution, the fall of the Chinese Empire
其實中國中華文化是個很強大很強大的文化
Chinese culture has been a very powerful civilization
我們有很多不同的發明啊
We have many different inventions
指南針啊 造紙、輪子啊 印刷術
Compass, paper, wheels, printing
還有很多天文地理的儀器，還有中醫也很好
Lots of astronomical & geographical instruments and Chinese medicine is also very good
只是後來因為不是家道中落
It’s just there was this fall
是因為滿清政府鎖國的關係加上西方越來越貪婪
because of the empire’s lock-up policy and the increasing greed of the West
我們好像忘記了自己曾經有的那個輝煌
We seem to have forgotten the glory we once had
